Dr. Baradarian uses high-quality dental implants, including Straumann® and Nobel Biocare®.
What Are Dental Implants?
Dental implants are screw-like titanium tooth root replacements surgically inserted into the jawbone. They stimulate the jaw and promote healthy bone regeneration, and they can completely restore oral function and the aesthetics of your smile. Dr. Baradarian also provides ceramic implants for patients who prefer an alternative to titanium.
Most patients report feeling little to no discomfort thanks to Dr. Baradarian’s advanced techniques.
Candidates who can benefit from dental implants include:
- Patients who have one or more missing teeth
- Patients who are healthy enough for an oral extraction
- Patients with healthy gums and strong bone structure to hold the implant in place

Dental Implant Placement Procedure
Dr. Baradarian will determine your candidacy by evaluating your periodontal and jawbone health during an initial consultation. He will also thoroughly explain the costs involved and what to expect during recovery. Because jawbone strength is imperative in the success of your dental implants, he will be looking for any signs of gum disease, gum degeneration, and jawbone loss. If you are healthy enough to proceed, Dr. Baradarian will schedule your placement procedure at your convenience. If your jawbone is not dense enough, you can undergo a bone grafting procedure to restore bone loss. Although this procedure will add additional recovery time, it is crucial in creating a solid foundation for your implants.
The overall implant placement procedure can be completed in less than two hours, depending on the number of implants being placed. One implant typically takes about an hour. Before beginning, Dr. Baradarian will use a cone beam scanner to determine the exact placement of your implants. A surgical guide will provide the surest stability and prevent malpositioned implants.
Dr. Baradarian will then administer anesthesia and sedation to provide optimal comfort throughout the procedure. Once you are comfortable, he will make a small incisions in the top of your gums and insert the dental implant to replace your former tooth root. Before closing the incision, he will apply PRP (platelet rich plasma) therapy for a speedy recovery. Dr. Baradarian will fit a tiny capsule filled with a combination of your platelets mixed with cytokines (growth factors) seamlessly within the incision, which will stimulate soft and hard tissue growth. Most patients report feeling little to no discomfort thanks to Dr. Baradarian’s advanced techniques.
After the procedure is completed, you will be sent home with a list of postsurgical instructions to follow while waiting for the implants to fuse with your jawbone. This healing period, also referred to as osseointegration, can take up to four to six months and is the most important phase of the overall procedure.
Once you have fully recovered, Dr. Baradarian will attach small connectors (abutments) to the implants so the restoration can easily connect. Recovery from this procedure generally takes two weeks. Impressions will be taken for your customized restoration to be designed. At your final appointment, Dr. Baradarian will attach the restoration and check it for proper fit and placement.
